Glass beads are priceless craftwork. They are even more precious than crystals mainly for two reasons: for one thing, the rare material source and intricate craftsmanship lead to its high cost; for another, glass beads are unique, never is it possible to find two duplicate glass beads. So to some extent, it is more of a culture symbol.
